So, after a bit of fiddling (we keep losing the image resizing software), I have just put some photos up. Ditched the sets on Trichnopoly and the elizabethan shirt (apologies to anyone that upsets - the photos are still there, just not the easy organisation), and replaced them with one of the CF photos and one on an Edwardian(?) riding jacket that belonged to Z's grandmother (Fanny Augusta Dixon (1904ish - 1974/5??? aged in 70s when died)). Definitely want to try and make a replica of that at some point. Wonder how easy it is to do a full length version... Feel free to point anyone you know interested in such clothing in the direction of those photos.

NB Riding jacket photos are from Weds evening after CF, when I am still at the lack of sleep/fuzzy stage. Not at my best.

Annoyed with the set limits on Flickr, however getting around them invovles paying money, so I am happy to skip that.
Anyone get any good photos of Z while being baronified or the stunned mullet expression afterwards?

So, finished the maroon diamond wool overtunic* (yay), sat down and finished a rectangular cloak that had been sort of started (had the tablet weaving sort of attached) in early 2004 (and lived on the bed ever since), and made a half circle oilskin cloak with wool lining round the shoulders. Cloak took about 2 hours and was designed to fit Z but drapes really nicely on me... I think it is the pint sized shoulders:)

So, in the interests of insuring it doesn't rain for CF, I want to make a duplicate cloak for me (at least we know the measurements work) and a hood for me from the same oilskin (which will be a bit more fiddly). The question is whether or not to do a hood for Z - if we don't, that should guarantee it will rain at some point which is good from a getting to test cloaks point of view, but not so good from a camping point of view. But if I do, it wont rain... Unless someone else has crap wet weather gear and/or dodgy tent waterproofing (which might be us) to bring the odds back in favour.

Decisions decisions...

At least we are now borrowing an anvil or two rather than bringing one over - Z broke hacksaw blades in an attempt to convert a piece of railway iron...

*Have to watch playing snap with Z and the matching tunics - first time in 6 years I have made matching garb, appart from the graduation stuff...

And after ~5 1/2 hour*, now have a finished swag. And it fits 2 persons worth of garb and shouldn't give the airline a heart attack - so far it weighs about the same as a heavy pack. Needs two leather loops put on so that the leather straps can be held onto it securely, but that can be done tomorrow. Really want a set of scales to check masses... Will pick up a mattress to go in it while over and then store it in NZ.

It was after packing everything up and looking on in satisfaction that we realised that we still needed something to store the clothing in while sleeping in the swag at CF... Still thinking on that one...

*Work on which was interspliced with dinner, muttering, TV, internet and reading so probably about 3-4 hours work.
