New Robin McKinley book out - Dragonhaven. Young adult and about dragons so not off to a good start there, but she generally does a good job of coming up with something different - read Sunshine or Deerskin. Is currently in hardback at Arty Bees but I will probably resist until I can get hold of a library copy.

So, do I pick a particularly significant book to read for the ~100th one this year (complete list to date here), or just read whatever looks reasonable. The Peter S Beagle short story collection is due back soon, so probably a good start.

I am about halfway through Dragonhaven and I am loving it. The style is a lot like Sunshine, the same first person looking back on events sort of thing. I read a lot of YA so that isn't a problem for me. It doesn't do adolescent angst. No new age mystic dragon stuff yet either.
