Jun. 13th, 2006 09:27 amI have two very insistant cockatoos headbutting my window at the momment - one on the ledge and one who has just jumped down from the frame. However they got given their parrot seed quota earlier and are not getting any more for the day.
Cold last night - it was down to -0.5 degrees by 10pm last night, and was -4 degrees when we got up around 7am this morning NB This was at the airport and where we are tends to be a degree or two colder based on the ABC news weather reports. Definite sunshine but that air really doesn't hold the heat.
Long weekend of not very much done. Didn't end up doing fireworks as the prices were expensive, the packaging crap and (in Z's opinion) unsafe, and the fireworks quite dodgy - they still sell buzzy bees over here which have been illegal in NZ for a while. Heard lots of bangs at various times but never actually saw any fire works. Oh well.
Other than that, lots of lounging round, typing up the books to get rid of list, and sorting, rotoating and relabling photos. Not exactly action packed and exciting but relaxing. Long rambly messages back and forth to K via Skype.
Unfortunately now need to start assembling the "stuff to be done" lists and get a move on.
Z spent his weekend clearing other peoples junk and with his head buried in George RR Martin's Feast of Crows. 3 days for that door stop. Still haven't finished #3 myself, so wont delve into that now. Apparently the verdict was interesting and well written enough to keep you going once you are in, but a bit overly complicated and annoying once you emerge and think about it.
Time to get N correct.
