Australia restricts liquid on flights over terror fears (NZ Herald 8.12.07)

Restrictions will be introduced late March, so fine for going over for CF, but those traveling over for Festival should watch out.
Wonder if this affects duty free alcohol, or if it is purchased behind security lines it is ok. Otherwise the duty free industry would be up in arms howling. Haven't heard anything about it in the news over here (but it was released today I think. Wonder if they will try and hush it up...

Congratulations Jetstar. By initially attempting to get me to enter passport and credit card details on an unsecured website you lost my patronage. Yes, you did update to securedish links when I refreshed the screen, but the extra hassle made the extra $80 going to Virgin in return for a more secure and trusted (well, they haven't fucked us over too much in the process previously and as long as you remember to complain when they attempt to reroute via Brisbane...) system, worth it.

So, will be in Chch ~6-16 July. May try for a brief trip up to Wellington for a little of that time. Definitely due at the Mad Scientist party though.

NB Making this trip as not certain if new employment (if found) and money (if employed or not) will allow a trip at Christmas... Brisbane is easily flown out of. Perth is a little more expensive.

Other than organising this, not a productive day. Matlab issues. Bloody vacuum wavenumber to air wavelength conversions.
