Coffee was only a way of stealing time that should by rights belong to your slightly older self.
Terry Pratchett Thud! 2005
Quiet weekend, hah!
More of a looting frenzy, far more successful earlier on.
Sat was the Yarralumla YMCA monster garage sale. They had the leftover books from the Lifeline book fair (the one I raved about about a fortnight ago). 50 cents each or fill a box for $12. Need more bookcase space. The other good find was 3+m of not too slubby ivory silk... for $5. Mmmmm, high class tunic... Clothing op shopping was less successful, but various other sales were good - yay to 20% off new underwear:) May need to redye the bright pink stuff (colour selection was not the best). Sin City in the evening, at the ANU film club showing. Did cement fairly firmly in my mind that no, I didn't actualy like the movie. But I do recommend people go see it. Very well done cinimatography and style, just too violent for my usual taste.
Sun was a dismal trash and treasure, AussieJunk and Revolve, markets, Japanese themed social thing, thesis editing (honours Classic - good writing style, allowing for the prerequisite art wank quota and best use of "squick" in an academic context that I have seen). Did solve bookshelf space issue by cleaning off and bringing upstairs the long low looted bookcase. Yay for bookshelf and B5 video space... And it should still fit more books for a little while at least.
A busy weekend and not quite enough Terry Pratchett reading time. But solved that in today's lunch hour. Is good:)
However, to cope with line fitting and a staff meeting, I may just need to go and steal some time...
