Tues: Into town with our visitors and a tour of the Central Markets. Unfortunately the chocolate fountain people don't do the solid choc, strawberry and liquid chocolate cups on Tues or Thurs, but 3 punnets of strawberries from one of the fruit stalls went very well dipped in paper cups of liquid chocolate. Then visited book shops, giggled at Lincraft and Spotlight and spent a little time in the Museum looking at the shiny rocks. Then home to crash and revive, via the Markets where we picked up very nice kangaroo fillet for $11 per kg and bacon. Then back into town for dance. On the way in, there was a band of cloud covering the moon, but it soon cleared just as the shadow started over, so we spent much of dance ducking in and out and checking eclipse progress. With 6+ reasonably experianced dancers, got plenty done too. Then off to the cafe with people where we worked out that yes, Z had had his binoculars with him and the eclipse would have looked really cool through those... Oh well. Had very nice clear views anyway.
Weds (Today): Wineries in the vicinity of Hahndorf and then lunch in Hahndorf itself. Lack of good impression with the sausages. Sorbet much better. Then on to more wineries, ending up in Maclaren Vale. I think the score was ~8 wineries with 9 bottles purchased between 2. The last (d'Arenberg?) was considered a good score with 2 good dessert wines there and a definite dose of it being a small world...
