Picked up and started reading Danse Macabre (LKH Anita Blake vampire porn fluff). Usual same old with no murder mystery component so far *sulk*. When you start ticking off the time-for-a-new-sex-scene/angst-session boxes, it is time to put it down til you are more in the mood for it later...
Moved onto far more interesting internet reading and thought with Renegade Evolution* through a link off a link off a link.

*Warning (well recommendation actually from my point of view, but other people do have different sensibilities), contains the opinions of a strong minded woman expressed strongly and explicitly, specifically to do with her opinions of freedom of speech, expression, and "a woman’s right of domain over her own body". Not work safe. If you enjoy Dan Savage, you may like this.

Otherwise, not a productive day so far. Should try and do something about that.

Imagine what it must be like to be Ann Rice or Stephen King or JK Rowling: to have ambitions toward literature but to know you have no obligation to put any effort at all into your writing because the punters will buy anything with a few hundred pages and your name on the cover. Like being a super model who'd love to learn how to be good in bed but who never has to be because her fame is enough to leave men begging for more. Or a politician who could go the hard yards to become a great statesman but who doesn't need to because the polling companies always give the right advice (except in the matter of how not to be old, dishonest and irrelevant, I guess).
