Front and back yards are now done and clean, which means basically all the outdoor stuff is done. Just as well since the forecast is for things to go wet as of this evening. Hope the promised thunderstorms turn up tonight or tomorrow.

This leaves inside. Laundry is nearly done, so that should be easy - quick wipe down, back toilet cleaned and that means from behind the kitchen is all done appart from sweeping and mopping.

Bedroom ain't too bad. Neither is the kitchen really - just the table, dishes and floor. Bathroom... hmmmmm. Less said about the lounge and especially the disaster zone that is the sewing room, the better. Some of that is large canvas rolls that will just have to stay as is as I don't wish to be crushed under them. They are fairly tidy anyway, but you can tell the room hasn't really been touched since Festival...

Have to admit that I far prefer wooden floors and being able to do a straight sweep and mop rather than vaccuuming. Hate vaccuuming - the long hairs really don't help, whereas they help with collection in sweeping...they want to get friendly with all the little dust bunnies around...

It was possibly silly getting out all of season 1 of Farscape on DVD - not going to be able to make it through 6 DVDs and 22 episodes without going slightly nuts. Only made it through 1 DVD so far and they are due on Thurs. Oh well. At $3 for the 3 cases, it ain't much to get them out again.

Time to go for a bit of a wander down to the shops - assuming what I want is open. Hmph to 80's weekend shopping hours. Yay to decent painkillers at this time of the month though.

Mmmmm warm and calm and still, walking along listening to the late afternoon/early evening birds. Blissful.
Shopping contained crumpets, painkillers, sanitary pads and chocolate, so a bit of a cliche there... but the chocolate...
Impulse buy time. Allow myself a silly snack when Z buggers off into the bush. Looked at the baking and thought that I can make a better chocolate cake than that, so wombled by the baking choc section. Ick. Wander to the standard choc section - OOOOOOhhhhhh. They have Whitticars - not just the peanut slabs but the 250g blocks. They have Whitticars Dark Ghana 73%. And they have it on special for $3 a block - for reference the "equivalent" Cadbury Old Gold crap is $4.50 per 250g block. Only picked up 3 blocks, which will probably last me a couple months and Z a week.
But it is at the local supermarket :)
Going outside to sit in the warm and calm, listen to the birds and the radio, eat chocolate and read a good book...

Oops. Missed the chance for more snide comments on the start of Eurovision (and Terry Wogan commentary), but since was talking to Mum, doesn't matter.

Yay to 2 hour long phone conversations costing about $2 via Skype. Unfortunately they are still having fun getting the 21st century internet connection to work. Maybe Thurs.

Mental note for next time. Possibly better to heat dinner and eat it before starting the phone conversation. Devilled sausages slightly on the crisp side but still ok.

And I should stop waffling as the rest of dinner is on the stove. Can't smell anything burnt yet...

Edit: and now dinner is out, I will settle in for an evening of giggling...
