Werewolves, vampires and fae oh my.

Just finished Moon Called by Patricia Briggs. Thinking about that genre as typified by Laurell K Hamilton, Tanya Huff, this etc.

They really are an excuse for monkey heirachy games made blatent with teeth. Alpha males battling, short women with martial arts training getting grumpy, unexplored hidden depths of magical talent, vampires posing and playing mind games...

They aren't bad for around the $2 and under mark...

Go out and read Sunshine by Robin McKinley though. That one is worth the brand new price.
