It has been so long...
Jun. 25th, 2006 08:50 pmIt has been so nice not having to work over weekends, for so long, that I had forgotten how annoying it is to lose the weekend to work. Of course, it was only a couple hours yesterday, after the great trials of Trying to Acquire an External Harddrive and Get It Working. Why is it you should never assume that any computing stuff will take as short a time as you originally expect... After the joys of partitioning in a format a cantancerous Win98 machine could read, given a 200 Gb drive (turned out that could do one max size Win98 readable partition at 32 Gb and partition the rest off into one in another format.), brain was hapily refreshed with Zefferelli's Satay Chicken Pizza and 3 episode of the new season of Dr Who.
Today was spent sleeping in as long as reasonably justifiable, then spending 7 hours solid assembling pretty pictures, copying data onto the now happy external hardrive, and sorting/shifting/swearing at large piles of papers and graphs scattered over any available horizontal surface... as well as the stuff in the filing cabinet. It is now in ordered heaps... scattered over every available horizontal surface. Recycling bin half full and will recieve a large dose of anything that wont be needed after at the end of the week.
Z is currently very happily ensconced in front of Master and Commander, occasionally making comments on the amputation speed.
I need another sewing project.
