(no subject)

A bit of a walk altogether, though it was a short detour at the time. But ah, Gaganis Brothers - real dutch cocoa, more of the garlic steak seasoning, sultanas and a small bag of cinnamon quills (100g for $1.70), and resisted the 500g bags of dried cranberries* and 1kg bags of cinnamon quills. And then there were cheaparse whole chickens on sale at the supermarket so guess what we are having for dinner tonight (and tommorrow and however long the corpse holds out for).

Then I got home, had some lunch and sort of accidentally had a nap...**

I be good and slice fabric now.

* Z may put in a request to go back for that. Though it has been a while since the serious dried cranberry addiction of the final stages of his thesis writeup.
** Why, when I remember my dreams, it is a recuring feature that I can't find Z or can't find the right medieval clothes? The former I can vaguely understand, but the latter? It is always the medieval clothing, never modern. Curious.

I'm assuming you haven't spent chunks of your life sewing modern clothes to be ready in time for specific events. And I'm assuming you've spent reasonable chunks of your life sewing medieval clothes to be ready in time for an event.
(Well, last minute sewing for Festival is what I always ascribe my bad dreams about being chased by a giant chemise to).

Oddly enough though, it is generally not trying to finish sewing things, but just straight finding things - not in the right chest or apparently I haven't packed it or whatever. And wearing the modern clothing in the dream circumstances is just WRONG. A substitute for dreaming that I am naked?

The closer I get to a medieval event, the more my dreams are about there being something wrong with my medieval clothes - like having zippers, or velcro, or something else embarrassingly modern. It's the authentically-minded version of dreaming of being naked at school...
