It's a Monday...
Nov. 27th, 2006 12:54 amAnd good luck and a series of good long uninterrupted sleepfilled nights to those attempting to recover from the weekend.
basal_surge has disappeared off to kick dust til Fri/Sat, or the following Weds - I'll find out at some point. This means I get to hog the middle of the bed, pig out on Tacos and other messy mexican foods, and spread fabric all over the lounge...
1st project is easy - cut out and sew up a length of purple canvas as mattress cover for the new chair/bed.* This should be done asap as it is a white shiney mattress which will not stay that way. Unfortunately this means the furniture will match the feature wall colour...
2nd project... Choices choices choices...
Which would you suggest out of this list?
a) Finish the red diamond patterned tunics given they have already been started. My one has had the shoulders unpicked, body narrowed and sleeves reattached. Still need to do that for Z's one. Hand sewing project.
b) Oilskin hood and cloak. Good probably week long project - know the sites I need to check for patterns, can use sewing machine (which will still be set up from doing the mattress cover). Uncertain on lining fabrics - may require thought.
c) (Pseudo ie slightly gothed up) Victorian underwear. Got the patterns and fabric (for the chemise and drawers) a while back. Just hadn't gotten around to it. Chemise, drawers, then corset. Good excuse time? Corset will require boning - what to use? Also uncertian if said pattern requires a busk. Will have to see. Also a sewing machine project.
d) Bias cut 12th C bliaut. Have nice light weight wool for that. Hand sewing project.
e) Take random suggestions from the audience.
f) Haircut and a real job.
But first, before it gets too hot, shops for lightbulb and food. Freshly breakfasted, so it should be safe. Apparently 0.2 degrees off 30, so I really should sunscreen up and head off now, before it gets to 32 degrees.
*Checked online and discovered that IKEA Melbourne and Sydney have the double bed sofa version we would have liked to get. Oh well.
