Weekend report
Jun. 18th, 2006 06:39 pmFri night: nap and tv - not exactly an action packed evening.
Sat: ? morning. Dishes, driving practice - 1st half an hour stopping and starting in a car park, then half an hour driving in circles around campus. Feast in evening - a little underattended, but the astronomers we brought along seemed to enjoy themselves. Z went off to a party after while I slept.
Sun: slept in, baronial practice in afternoon - naalbinding and watching astronomers fencing. Markets (cheap whole duck and chocolate), then home for dinner prep.
The duck recipe we are trying. No mango chutney, so substituting spanish onion marmalade...
Some interesting sounding duck recipes here, here and here.
A brutally accurate roast duck recipe
Reposts may follow as to how the duck went.
Edit: That was very nice and will have to be made again some time, possibly using the garlic, sage and olive oil combo as a main stuffing rather than just inserted into slits in the chest. And there is plenty for tommorrow.
