May. 14th, 2006 11:11 pmSo, neck getting sore so stopped insanely detailed sewing. Switched to Viking trichnopoly ie looped wire work. Now I have blisters on my thumb...

Tools of the trade and a started piece of wire.

In progress. Learned on a vice but knees work just as well.

Wire once finished looping.

Wire on the drawplate used. Now 17cm long after drawing.
I'll skip the final view cause it was out of focussed and you can't see too much detail, but it lengthened out to 20 cm long.
And for comparison, an original Viking one from the Sydney Maritime Museum exhibition:

Next time, through second loop back rather than first for denser weave. Also finer mandrill so less space between loops. Also start wearing gloves sooner. But I think I'll let the fingers recover first.
