stellar_muddleOk, my brain has switched off because I can't compile the program for reading the water .bin file... and it is not coping well with line formation code either, so I will be evil.

Pawn shop (Macpac for me:), Kutwells (green wool and linen?), Bivouac (less helpful for replacement mini pack for my new Macpac), McEwings (more helpful, though only after trying the Macpac factory outlet and having to get things through them the next day...). Drinkies for Gold in evening. Lotsa people:)

Town again for McEwings (see above) - pity the zip AND clips didn't match due to the vagaries of moving production offshore. Toffs:). Back to Staveley for Christmas Eve with Zane's parents and uncle.
Sat 25 Dec
Christmas dinner with lots of food and all the trimmings. Rain with fireworks in the evening. Bang:)

Interesting discussion with Zane's dad over NLP - peer review and testable data... Back to Chch then flight up to Wellington. Dinner with my parents, aunt and uncle. Big real Christmas tree with lights and popcorn and glass ornaments and ...:) First reports about the tsunami (Pacific Tsunami watch reports and comments on the magnitude of the earthquake) but no sign of the shear scale of the damage until the following days. Lots of shop talk from the 3 geologists in the room on the subject, especially since Dad went and studied the Papua New Guinea one a few years back. He didn't sound enthusiastic about visiting another disaster area.

Into Wellington city. BOOKSHOPS:), Zane started work on little cannon for Craig.
Break til this evening due to buses... Don't wish to be left behind on the mountaintop.
