0.8 m black silk cav shirt reminant. Fine black sheer silk tabby. 1.05m wide.
Repair/conversion jobs:
Part finished silk doublet lining (Z started 1995... based on one of the Sture garments in Janet Arnold)
Part finishe black velvet doublet (Z started 1995... based on one of the Sture garments in Janet Arnold). Major cutting issues. Slightly too small now. Will need more velvet or may be able to be recut to fit me... Ok, looking at the sewn together lining, it fit Z in 1995, and is now the right length and a little over the right girth for me... Arms are roomy. Curiously the silk lining has viking period seam finishing...
Cream and brown striped silk baggy trousers. Cuff needs repair.
Pink tartan silk baggy trousers. What do you do with pink tartan silk baggy trousers? 2m+ of silk there... At least. VERY pink.
Part finished Bruce tartan scarf which needs blanket stitching.
And in one of the boxes:
Acres of blue, green and tan moleskin. ~20+m...
[Edit]
2.5m black cotton drill.
2.5m dark pseudo suede.
4m maroon thin cotton.
4m blue moleskin (rest sold to Cate)
2.5m green moleskin.
~.5m ocre (red/brown) wool - Bedford row July 2006 NZ trip, unwashed.
4m grey heavy wool - Bedford row July 2006 NZ trip, unwashed.
~10m bottle green medium weight wool - Bedford row July 2006 NZ trip, unwashed.
1/2 white flockarti rug - cloak sized piece.
I was going to start a 12th C bliaut, but the Elizabethan black velvet doublet may be more fun... Slashed silk, couching and all...
So the running total so far is 125.95m total. 53.1 wool (underestimate due to blanketage/unfinished cloakage, probably another 10+m there), 20.95m of silk, 42.5m of linen, 2.4m hemp, 5m cotton (other cottons are elsewhere...), 2m synthetic (should really file elsewhere).
And this is ignoring the fabric widths...
And we sold 90m of wool to the AAF and at Festival.
Z's response to the numbers: "Shaft me gently with a fishfork..." Given he is the main one reponsible...
Surveying the vast Fabric Mountain Range
Date: 2006-04-25 01:53 pm (UTC)wow- and I thought that I had a fabric mountain.
Mine is but a hillock next to your magnificent range:P
you guys would love the range of wool that Lazlo's got in stock at the moment- really nice weight stuff- he went mad at the Swanndri factory closing in Timaru last year.
Although given how much fabric you've got in the stash, I think you'll be sewing it up for a fair while before buying up madly.
Some of that fabric must be nearing maturation by now, right?
:)

Re: Surveying the vast Fabric Mountain Range
Date: 2006-04-25 11:32 pm (UTC)The 1995 doublet should be a good year, once it is resized, then it is back to some of the more recent wools.
Someone mentioned Bedford Row should be starting to sell off its reminant wools soon (1 May?). Gotten some very nice stuff there.
