Still thumb twiddling (and finished the book).

So, instead of eying up the sewing [livejournal.com profile] alpha_angel has lying around the place (cause that would be impolite to work on), I'll tackle a meme (via [livejournal.com profile] mmy_me) instead.
Behind this door lies... )
Life in progress as opposed to waiting. Can't wait too long, otherwise things will progress without you.

But for now I will just eat sandwich and wonder at the definition of arriving soon (when said around 9am) that hasn't turned up by 2pm... And find another book to read.

Twiddling thumbs twiddling thumbs twiddling thumbs...

So, the freighted stuff cleared MAF inspection in Auckland on Tues*. So we were told delivery Weds or Thurs. So on Weds morning, we make our way through howling wind and rain to K's place where it is being dropped off - K taking the day off to help/loiter/sort out car tyres etc. By the end of a morning and afternoon of not doing much appart from shopping (online for cars and offline for food), reading and napping (on my part), no truck. Dinner then headed off to A&S where we sewed and drooled over books through the council meeting and helped critique biscuits after.

K back to work this morning and Z and I stayed to hold the fort and look for trucks. Evil headache for me held in check (well, muted) with painkillers and napping through the morning. No sign of truck and then a phone call saying that stuff was still in Auckland and might now be as late as Mon (grump) if they couldn't find a truck today. Luckily a second phone call came a little before noon saying that stuff was now on a truck and should get in tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

So here we are, still loitering in K's lounge, borrowing her laptop, reading her books and terrifying her cat**.

* DON'T try and take feathers internationally these days - it really isn't worth the hassle. Evil birdflu.

** Greebo still thinks we are devils incarnate and will run very fast in the opposite direct whenever he sees us. Which is odd since he was fine with us a year(?) ago. He was very miffed last night when K&C had headed off to bed and shut their door and Z was in the lounge (no safe haven there) and I was in the spare room (no safe havens left, must cry in the hallway). Not even attempted food feeding seems to have helped. What is scary about us? Ok, so Z might qualify a bit but I'm harmless...
