Rest of the weekend

stellar_muddleHokey pokey icecream with Kahlua and chocolate sauce is very good.
Site prep day 2.
Less stinking hot day - only 33 degrees in Canberra. Cloud more diffuse than yesterday and no scattered rain. Z dug the sump, shingled the sump and put in the holey pipe for the water to drain into the sump for the shower base. I continued mudcaking the Chuffer and now have only half of the oven bit to go. It was the bit with the suspicious looking spiderwebs, so I wasn't going to be poking mud in there, even with gloves on. The rest is a far less spider and creepy crawly friendly appartment block now, so less animals should be roasted come Festival. Admittedly it does look like a 3 year old had fun with mud and straw:) Then rocks and gravel were laid and we saw how far the 10 bags of concrete went. Not far and another 15-20 bags are probably needed for the top layer where we put in the drainage channels etc. We decided to just run and use up the 10 bags of concrete and so only finished around 6pm. No driving practice as too tired, but may try to ask nicely and head out next weekend to finish the concreting and drive up and down.
Small wildlife count for the weekend. 3 wedgetail eagle far off, several smiley face spiders, 1 leech,and Z squished several redbacks. Nothing bigger:(
Vienna: seige of 12 Sept 1683. Very good documentry on this currently on SBS. Lots of reinactors with very good stuff had lots of fun and they did experimental work on Turkish mining gunpowder... Plumed wings on Polish cavalry?

next site prep - March, and general notes:
Finish concreting shower base (though fingers crossed do that earlier).
Kitchen tent sink sump. Should be smaller than the shower one since I think it doesn't need to handle as large a water flow. Based on today's experiance, shouldn't be hard (says she who wasn't digging...)
Some form of weed control to get the stuff the mowers don't get around the large rocky items.
Grapes and watermelon are definitely worth bringing.
Need to start on next tent soon.
