One of the accademics at work has just returned from a short stint in the US and had some fun in airports. Tall, blond and originally Swedish, though now I think with Australian citizenship, he managed to get strip searched 6 times on the way through. On the 6th time, being slightly suspicious that this was less than random - 1 in 20 people searched shouldn't happen 6 times in a row, he asked. Turns out that no, this wasn't random. The airline company had mistyped/mucked up their nationality flagging, replacing AU with AF... Afghanistan. Suprise suprise at the security alarm bells there.

Makes you wonder what NZ can be mutated into...
