Asymptotic Giant Branch stars: Stars which have evolved off the main sequence (where our Sun is), finished burning hydrogen as their main fuel source, and are now burning Helium. Except its a little more complicated than that. This is what I am currently being paid to study.

Using needle and thread to create patterns on fabric. Especially like counted blackwork and very fine detail. Get impatient having to chenge colours though. Need to do more of this while watching B5.

sewing:
Using needle and thread to attach bits of fabric together. Can use a machine, but the amount of fluffing around getting the tensioning right means that I prefer to sew by hand. Its easier to take into lectures and onto buses that way.
siege weapons:
Trebuchets, catapults, arbalasts, mangonels, cannons, ballista.
