stellar_muddleHmmmm, this is getting overkill. The two desks in my office have a Sun workstation (network), Dell laptop (network) and now a Compaq Presario laptop (not networked). The two laptops are conversing via floppy disk (yes, I know, how quaint...), then things go through the network. All so I can get one figure right for a paper. It would have to be done under Matlab... One of these will in fact bugger off now that is done though.
I had forgotten though just how easy Matlab is to use, and how convenient it is to use, especially as it generates tweakable postscript figures that you can fiddle with just by opening and changing text if necessary eg replacing km/s with kms-1.
That is probably enough computational crap. Weekend didn't involve computers (much) - yay. It involved second hand clothing shopping, sewing and attempting to teach people Rufty Tufty... It will be interesting to see how much people remember this evening. Will have to practice in the front lawn for space, but this shouldn't worry the neighbours much as the landlords used to practice fencing out there...
