Back to weaving
May. 18th, 2010 07:23 pmThe warp weighted loom set up in its new resting place. Yay to upstairs studio area for projects - me weaving and sewing, Z calligraphy.
Current length 25 inches / 64 cm. I forget how long it was by the end of CF, though I may have noted down somewhere. I can probably work out by where it goes wobbly wonky where I started with the wrong beater. Much better once I got back to using the one Boyd made.
About 3 more photos of it in the Flickr vicinity, including closeupish views of the fabric. Somewhat on the coarse side.
Probably need another 30 cm to have enough for the planned satchel, or may go for as long as the length of wool on the weights.

Date: 2010-05-20 01:49 am (UTC)Weights are flat rings cast out of lead printers type they got cheap fom a scrap metal merchant. I only just have enough for this project - anything wider and I will defintely want more and I already have more threads per weight than I would like.
Think the wood is pine. I can measure up some dimensions when home this evening.
I also have some photos from when Aimee had the AAF one set up in the lounge in our place in Canberra, which I can email if you are interest - not my photos, so wont post to web publically though. Possibly some ones from Beorgwic as well.

It look as though there's an upright beam that is not usual for what I know of them. Am I seeing things?
