weekend report

It was a weekend. There was much packing, though possibly not enough. But at least we now have a place to move into. It has the uber garage of doom, but a slightly smaller house. Some rearrangement of stuff will be needed.

Sat:
Rain.
Packing. Cataloging of books and packing.
Sweet off and much much much sugar. The theme was food from fiction and there was some very nice stuff.
Home and more book cataloging and packing.

Sun:
Less rain but now from the south.
Packing. Cataloging of books and packing.
Dinner with R&S&A. Borrowed some of their boxes.

Can you spot a theme?

Current count is 1176 books catalogued (1 bookcase to go) and still not quite enough small book boxes. Big boxes filled with books mean I can't move them and that is suboptimal. More small boxes needed.

Time for sleep before work and more packing. wheeeeeee.

Next valley over in Trentham. More commuting to social stuff, but Z can bike to work and it is only 10 min extra reading time each way for me in the train. And $15 a week cheaper than the current place.

Some is already on Librarything (about 700??) - I forget the couple accounts it is spread over (I am cheaparse). Catalogue is now finished, but need more small boxes.

Cool so what name do I look under in Librarything? I'm learning, the hard way, how not to be a spendthrift. Kept accounts of how much we've spent between Sydney and Perth, in a detailed old empty ledger book I found whilst packing up the flat in Sydney. Truly scary stuff. Cheap arse is my new goal for the next leg from Perth to Sydney via Tassie. Will be interesting to see whether 'knowledge' manages to rein me in. Prob too late this time but next time around, see if you can find a diagnostic lab willing to part with old boxes (or a hospital). I was given around 10 from one in Sydney and they were perfect for books. Extra strength cardboard and a nice neat small size... Whereabouts are you guys moving to? Planning to tour NZ properly within the next year. Just read article on the black beaches west of Auckland... fascinating area. In that region alone, 20% more plant species than the entire European flora count!

'kay, just read back through last comments 'coz I knew it had been asked previously. Trentham - going to google. Oh and I just packed all the books back into the van. Some things just can't be left behind :) Have about 50 on board and the back cupboard has shelves with lips that prevent them all falling out when you open the door. Perrrrfect :)
