alpha_angel and her very good vacuum cleaner after ours threw a hissy fit. Time to upgrade to one like hers.
Z got in about half an hour after K headed home, while I was mopping. More cleaning, then much checking of websites (eg Geonet Recent quakes (last 30) and the quake drum images. From the varying reports, took a while to get a clear magnitude, but looks like the Fiordland earthquake was magnitude 7.8, with aftershocks as large as 6.1. Didn't feel a thing, but was in a bathroom cleaning at the time, so preoccupied. Z was further north and in a car at the time, so didn't notice it either. Wonder if this will give Z (amongst others) some more landslides to play with...
Sleep now before turn into pumpkin at midnight.
