Bugger said Pooh
Oct. 18th, 2008 02:47 pmI think the southerly has just arrived.
It was gorgeously warm and sunny and nice and after a morning and midday spent wandering around a craft show and town* with T, and some lunch, I was contemplating walking down and returning library books and visiting the supermarket.
And then the wind picked up and the sun went away
But then had been expecting the southerly to arrive earlier, so have been lucky. Obviously me bringing the raincoat along earlier worked.
At least the laundry got a little while in the sunlight and was able to be quickly brought in before it blew away.
Wonder if/when the rain will turn up. Not much on the radar, but there is definite wind.
Oh well, may have to do the library books and shopping tomorrow and console myself with fudge and Charles Stross's latest "Saturn's Children" for the rest of the afternoon.
Oh woe.
* Loot** was -
From the craft show:
Fudge from Fudge Cottage (mmm ginger, apricot liqueur, and will see how the white choc and raspberry is), beaded hair thing, with combs and intertwined elastic with beads (which appears to be staying in,but my hair may eat it or slingshot it later),and smoked spiced salt (and smoked garlic). Didn't get any soap, but since have some nice stuff at present, that is ok.
Got somewhat distracted by the Needle lace display as that was a practical club, where you could have a go. They meet locally on Sat afternoon, so may be worth wombling along at some point. Just what I need, another hobby with fine detail being hunched over things... :)
From various shops:
glow sticks - 2x $2 packs of the thin ones, and 2x the big pack of 3 survival ones from Kathmandu (on sale half price)
Looked at LED headlamps - they had their $90 LED ones for 60% off, but didn't buy. Z, if you see this, are you interested? Only single LED though. May be better off checking Paddy's Market for such things. T said she had seen them cheaper elsewhere as well, though it wasn't at Dwights...
** Well not precisely loot, cause we paid for it.
