Gosh I can be a grumpy bunny at present. Evil lunar phasing.
Of course this isn't helped by the TV scheduling. Grumps to Channel 10 for delaying Torchwood for ages last week for sodding Big Brother final and delaying/replacing it with bloody James Cameron's Jesus bone box doco. Bonus swearing to the TV guide website which didn't accurately list this and posted double listings.

But on the more cheerful side there was Top Gear and flaming caravans.

Z was looking at 11th C illuminations of tents. Have to wonder about using an image as documentation when you have to add the qualification to ignore the guy on the floating carpet in the foreground...
But there is now a talk outline for upcoming collegium which can have piccies and references added - spot the Uni lecturing habits coming to the fore in the use of the Open Office version of Powerpoint. For me at least, it gives a good frame to talk off and allows me to lay out a logical procedure. Dividing it up into who talks about what on the day, may be a bit more interesting. Technically we are both giving it as at the time we said we could do it, we didn't know if Z would be in the field at the time or not, so picked something that I could waffle on if Z couldn't make it. Not certain how it will divide up now - may be more of me herding Z back on track at various points and times. Will need to take photos of seam details and grommets etc soon.

Hand sewing talk is far less structured and organized as I suspect much content will vary depending on the audience on the day. Will get on to summarizing things soon anyway and assembling references.

Z's shoe workshop I suspect will be far more informal, with a stack of references and far more hands on getting people doing stuff.

Could consider this to be scarily organised for something over a week and a half away, but you have to remember that this weekend is busy with blacksmithing and Z is off in the field for much of the following week...

And one set of hood and cloak is done - awaiting confirmation of eyelet holes and an address. Yes, I can do a cloak and a hood in under 24 hours (probably less than 10 hours working time, but it is the wear and tear and lubrication on the fingers that is the limiter - yay for remembering the thimble). The next 2 sets will require a little more tweaking with respect to size so may be a little longer.

Top Gear ruled. Torchwood is on Tuesday midnight. Channel 10 is stupid.

I don't even think they've shown Torchwood here yet, but Yay! the new season of Doctor Who is starting soon!

Channel 10 has definitely just demonstrated extreme stupidity.
Sigh.
Time to get back to programing the video and remembering large safety margins for "emergency programing".

Oh good. Fingers crossed by the time we show up, we may be up to the episodes we have missed recently (on Sat)...
Keep an eye out for Torchwood - I would probably rate it higher than the current Dr Who... Prefer the Torchwood Captain Jack to the Dr Who Captain Jack (though the Dr Who episodes he first turned up in were good Sapphire and Steel scariness levels)
And have to catch up on the last Dr Who season at some point too.

*Bounce bounce*
Can we come when we are over?
Dr Who and Torchwood are even more fun in company... and were even better on large screen with a digital projector back in Canberra.

I'm sure you'd be welcome.
