Leg binding weaving now has pin moved 20 inches to 90 inches.
Weekend:
Sat: Sun/rain shade sewing, with our industrial sewing machine relocated to S&T's for the duration. Stitching together of 2 sets of 2 x 6.25m long lengths of canvas and hemming. Yay to all the people who came along and helped. I suspect
argentbear was happy for the good turnout of people. All the machine sewing was done and 8 of the 16 (in total) eyelets done (leather, hand sewn). Dinner was sort of skipped and we went straight to the Sweet off, where the theme was "Billions and Trillions". Several variations on the theme. I liked the 'petri dish' lime cheesecake for taste and the "layered lava sand" sherbet (the fizzy kind, with a toffee dipping stick) for concept. Definite sugar highs there. The theme for next time (picked by the winners) is "Au natural" ie no refined sugars. Should be interesting.
Sun: Slept in, and tidied and spent some time reading Doonesberry on a beanbag in front of the fire :). There were plans to do other things but they never quite eventuated. Time for handbag repair (stitching just keeps failing).
Says something about the quality of the Arthurian drama on TV (The Adventures of Merlin and here) that after about an hour cringing, spent a far more rewarding next half hour watching a documentary series Ko Tawa about the stories of the objects features in the Ko Tawa exhibit. And the bonus of it being a series. Will be tuning in to that next Sun, rather than Merlin...
Edit: And the sewing was happily accomplished while watching Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont, which was very good. Maori TV being the closest we get to SBS over here.
