I got to inflict death by powerpoint today. Or at least the minor death of 40something out of a set of 70+ slides of mainly graphs over about an hour. Though generally W and C were doing most of the talking/only occasional arguing...

After dealing with a mainly geek/academic background amidst mainly geek/science academic folk, I tend to forget that for some, the main way towards getting a grasp of a trend or statistical sequence is not to graph it. So, for those of you out there who don't think that way/absorb info like that automatically/haven't been indoctrinated in that style of thinking for the past decade and a bit, how do you prefer to absorb your info and what makes an hour of graphs less painful (I get to repeat this next week on the second half of the data set)?

Why is it that I think of various witty and wise thing to post to LJ while walking to and from work or on the train, but they vanish by the time I get in front of the keyboard?

That was it! Is part of the Wellington training for parenthood, the ability to stand downwind of your children and prevent them from blowing away? It is either that or tether them...

Pizza ready :)
