Busy weekend:
Sat evening and into the early morning: S's birthday party. Good to catch up with so many people and can put a couple of faces to names (well, LJ ids) now. Been a while since I have been to a party when things flowed so effortlessly to 3am without noticing. Asleep around 4am at K's place after a tour of previously unexplored (for me) suburbs with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
alpha_angel (driving), basal_surge (the sober driving supervisor), talkingfrog and realityadmin. Everyone made it safely, despite the rain and wind trying to blow the car off the highway.
Sun: Getting up by 10 am (hence the napping incentive). Picked upslothphil, dropped Z off at brunch with A&R (and B&J and S&J) as he had the plane to catch later, then headed through the ever increasing rain to S's place where we shifted round cars and drove into the rain and then out of the rain over to the Wairarapa. Much food (the vote was clearly for the chicken, lemon and paprika pie and the (mainly) lemon, lime and bitters cheesecake) and wine touring followed, interspersed with a brief view of Stonehenge Aotearoa and and the back roads of Martinborough. Not as much dessert wine as was hoped but Schoc definitely made up for that - mmm ginger... Then back over the hills into the rain, a pause for hot drinks and food porn magazines and I got back to Mum and Dad's at the start of a thunderstorm - hope things were more settled down the valley.
Z is safely in Auckland (thank you to his hosts) and has a car.
