Jun. 9th, 2005 05:57 pmMade it safely back to Canberra. Meanwhile Z is getting wet in WA. At least not in Perth at present...
Hail and high winds hit south west Australia
It would appear that I left just in time, although there was somewhat of a downpour and thunderstorm between 7 and 8pm in Perth last night.
You have to love the airline industry. Trade winds were such that the flight from Perth to Canberra was only to take 3 hours instead of the usual 4. However, landing regulations at Canberra Arport are such that planes aren't allowed to land before 5:30am. So we sat on the tarmac for about half an hour.
Of the 4 second hand bookshops I visited in Perth/Fremantle, 3 were called Elizabeth's. Nice selections too.
It's very quiet here: I think I'll pester Kerry:)... Though doing this will summon home the flatmate who will need to use the phone when she gets in... [Edit: flatmate has just got home:)]But it is getting later across the ditch.
And there is still the weekend to go.
It was nice to smell moisture and rain. Though it may bog down geologists who need to move rocks:(
So, Pride and Prejudice, Hornblower, B5 or random other assortment? It would be now I want my old NZ collection: Pursuasion and/or Strickly Ballroom would be great at present.
Enough random timewasting waffling.
Nice warm skin on other side of continent:(
