Cockatrice article is in. [livejournal.com profile] sacred_chao, hope you are ok with the use of those two Festival photos - bellows interior and slag tapping. Photos are attributed to you in the captions. If not, holler loudly asap, and we can do something slightly different.

Slight giggling over getting complimented for following the guidelines. Being used to Latex formatting for journal articles, keeping text and figures separate wasn't exactly an issue. Remembering not to put in the appropriate latex formating was. And it is only polite to give the editors the formatting they need - Mum does copy editing and that bit has possibly rubbed off.

Currently all quiet here - Z headed off into the wild dusty* yonder at 5:30am this morning, will be back Fri evening, is around for the weekend and then back into the field for 5-10 days after that and possibly for much of March after that. Progress on certain Festival projects may be "interesting". Wonder if I trust myself with a chisel...** We can survive without the yellow stripy tent and fall back on the bodged together workshop tent, and even if necessary, sleep on the straw tick on the ground for part of the event, but the big white Viking A-frame really needs a frame if we are going to sleep under it.

Back to neckline embroidery (will post a photo at some point), before 1st dance practice of the year.

* Actually the only reason he hasn't been in the field the past few weeks, has been due to (shock horror) rain in the areas being dug up and the fact that the australia landscape either blows away as dust when dry or attempts to drown you and/or hug your tyres when wet. Big machinery not good for recently wet tracks and hence not popular with the farmers who own the bits of landscape to be investigated.

** Wax tablets - not as fine as the York ones. Don't really trust myself with a router, but chisel should be ok, even if slower. And I am probably OK with a saw and straight lines across and measuring. What would people pay for wax tablet sets like the ones Z, I and [livejournal.com profile] alpha_angel have? Lampblacked beeswax inside, multiple panels, possibly doublesided, not certain about the stylus or possibly a leather pouch case (extra). If $30 for basic opening pair, needs to be 3 or less hours of labour involved. Extra for extra panels.
Still need to see if I can make em first...

Should we have put in a glossary?

I'm kind of doing that in-text.
