Carl Sagan
Dec. 21st, 2006 11:23 amAs some of you may know from postings on Cocktail Party Physics etc, it is approximately the 10 year anniversary of the death of Carl Sagan - on of the more famous popular astronomers around. There are some good links given on that site, so I wont repeat them here.
Instead I will just reccommend that you get hold of a copy of his book "The Demon Haunted World" and read it. Even if you just manage a couple of the essays - but that isn't difficult cause he writes very well.
And for those of you putting up with miserable rain and wind and cold down south, I wont complain about it being 34+ degrees out. But from the radar we should get some lovely rain in the next few hours. Looking at the weather forecasts for Christmas, we get cooler and you get warmer so everybody wins..
