In a fit of organisation, have established we are too late for cheap fights back for Christmas/New Years - was going to be around the $2000 mark...
So, instead booked for around Canterbury Faire*. Fly over on the 30 Jan, fly back on 10 Feb. And bookings are in for CF. This way we at least get to see Z's parents (briefly) and catch up with alpha_angel (assuming she is making it to CF). We will just have to pursuade my parents to come over and visit here - probably in Spring or Autumn...

*Virgin can do you return Adelaide/Chch for ~$1200 then. Via Brisbane, but you get that...

Hurrah! I'll be going to CF next year, as usual. Might not be able to afford Festival though.

Good re CF, bad re Festival, but can always just aim for alternating years on that. Not certain where Festival will be in 2008 onwards though.

It is an unfortunate fact that if you want to go to NZ for Christmas you have to book late august/early september if you want to get cheap flights. We booked at the end of september and could only get cheap flights if we flew on christmas eve, so that's what we are doing. Still haven't booked return flights yet, really must get onto that.

Mmmm, flying back can occasionally be useful.
Unfortunately around Aug/Sept, we were still working out which city we would be based in, let alone flying out of. Little more organsed now. Should be able to be more organised next year.
