stellar_muddleSo, yes, Adelaide to Canberra and back. ~2400km. In 4 days.
Thurs: Adelaide to Yass. In a day. Yes, we now know you can do it. No, it is not recommended to be done often. We got into a zone of good music, rain and good conversation after Narrandera and just kept going. Sleeping in the car is also not really recommended.
Fri: Yass to Canberra. Packed stuff into car and trailer - 101 uses for cheap oilskin. Arranged freight company to pick up and shift the rest. They picked up the stuff that very afternoon. Nice company. I'll name them and may even be be more complimentary later, but not until after the stuff arrives here and we check the state of things. Then glorious shower, a giggling inspection of large piles of canvas (mmm green and blue oilskins as well as yellow) and Z almost punching himself out in shock, and very good catching up with people around an open fire BBQ. Mmmm bed.
Sat: Canberra to Narrandera. Slow start with lots of sleeping in, a bit of repacking and shuffling around of stuff, then departing town by about 3pm. Drive drive drive to Narrandera. Motel not car. Recommend the Chinese restaurant over the fish and chip shop.
Sun: Narrandera to Adelaide. No rain this time. Strange melons. The joys of unpacking car and trailer. A lounge awash in chests (10 in total). They work well as anything from chairs to coffee tables and you can store things in them. 2 boxes of books half fills two bookcases - we are going to need more bookcases, but then we always need more bookcases. Kitchen is far more functional now - cups, plates, pots, spices, alcohol.
But at least we now know the spa bath works:)
