stellar_muddleIt's all grey and cold again, but don't worry, it's supposed to get up to 35 degrees next Tues...
This does reinforce the need for more/a steady supply of firewood. It has been nice sitting in front of the fire, curled up on a bean bag reading.
Now I need to get some work done. What I would like to be doing is starting work on a bunch of new tunics for Zane for Festival. Any warnings out there for working with silk? However, that can wait til tonight... assuming the fabric has been already washed, otherwise, later...
I was evil yesterday and gave in to temptation... I now have 5 books on order from Amazon. I can semi-justify it in that you just can't get them over here any other way. One is a work textbook and since the shipping is cheaper with more[1]...

I feel mildly guilty almost, as I have avoided this for years and I generally prefer to support the local bookshops but it is the main way to get them. I think limiting to once off or once a year would be a good idea. But it is kind of a nice way to celebrate a promotion/payrise... Academic level A7 now... Still an academic with training wheels though.
Have to be patient though, as they are not due to arrive until March.
[1] To be exact, it decreases in price per book with more, which should not be confused with the former.
Meanwhile (concentrate now) work. Time to start bribing myself. If I get all the equivalent widths for the H alpha line in Kappa Pav done by the end of the day, I can have a chocolate frog. There are at least 64 of the suckers[edit - the spectra, not the frogs...], but it should be doable if I concentrate and don't get so easily distracted by LJ and email etc...
