What: Chocolate tasting evening
Date: 20-05-2006, Sat the 20th of May, after 7pm.
Where: Canberra - my place
Notes:

Test your taste buds in chocolate discernment and try a wide variety of types and flavours. We think the world needs more chocolate so are organizing a chocolate tasting evening on Sat 20 May. Each person coming puts in $5 ahead of time, and we organize as wide a range of types and flavours of chocolate for people to try on the night. We may also try a blind taste run to see how well people know their basic chocolates and whether they can really tell the brands apart.

We will also provide some savoury nibbles as contrast. Please BYO alcohol and drinks of whatever you think goes well with chocolate.

WRT money, contact Z or J preferably by Wednesday, or at least by Friday at the latest. Will accept your $5 on the night as long as we know you're turning up.

And I am sorry but the rest of you will just have to miss out.

You could of course organise your own...:)
Get someone to send you a care package from Schoc
Their dark choc lime and chilli is awfully nice... [livejournal.com profile] alpha_angel is familiar with the stockist(s) in Wellington.

Aji sells Schoc. And the lime and chilli is really good. But at over $120/kg, it had better be good!

I was considering stealing your idea :-)

They're charging a premium. It's only $9.95 here, and the cafe sells chilli hot chocolates...

I suspect if we were in NZ and doing it, we would probably go up to $10 per head for a Schoc specific tasting session...
I suspect here we will try an array of basic Cadbury's, Nestle, Whitticars, Lindt and check the local delicatesans at the Markets for some of the European chocolates...

That makes $124.38/kg -- they're 80g bars, not 100g...

Cool. I should try something like that, but will have to sort out a suitable variety first.

Rob and I will be there. Also since I forgot to take the schoc geranium chocolate to Binalong I will bring it along on Saturday for all to try.
