Ok, so the National Gallery Library does have a copy of Ancient Danish Textiles from Bogs and Burials by Margretha Hald
Two possible access routes:
ANU staff apparently get automatic approval for reader tickets, however I don't have a referee and it is not for professional research (they don't seem to have a catagory for recreational research). So, anyone able to put in an interloan request through ANU? I am in the process of enquiring as to whether I can get it direct using an interloan through the ACT library system, but their website ain't exactly responding fast. The question is whether or not they can do it in the next 2-3 months...

I thought anyone could get a card to access the books at the library, as in you go to library and only read the book in the reading room? I know that Alice has a card for the National library, she said you can pre-order the books online, tell them when you will be turning up and they will have the books there waiting for you.

Ooops I thought you were talking about the National library, not the national gallery. Hmmm I have no idea what their deal is.

That sounds like the case with the National Library, but the National Gallery seemed faily explicit as to who it was going to let in and deal with and it was wanting serious scholars only. They may try and sound tough and narrow to scare off less serious people, but time wise, it sounds less direct.
Have just talked to the work liason to the Uni library and he is willing to loan his library number for access tommorrow. That way it should be able to be delivered up to Stromlo direct, and he knows where to come and find me to beat me up if it isn't returned ok. Besides, he knows Owen etc through archery...
