Just finished seeing Memoirs of a Geisha. Very scenic, stunning cinamatography, but really missing something. Actors whom I have seen being good elsewhere, but unfortunately were lumbered with an incredibly cattish, bitchy soap opera of a storyline with an entirely Mills and Boonish ending. And an incredibly Mary Sueish heroine. Is the book any better?

Worth seeing for the scenery - I would love to visit some of the gardens they filmed in, but definitely not twice.
