Word association meme and the weekend.
Jul. 5th, 2009 10:18 pmComment "WORDS" to this entry and I will comment back (at some point) with five words I associate with you. Then you post this in your journal elaborating.

Theobromine Mmmm theobromine. Definite drug of choice via a chocolate vector. Generally the darker the better, though hitting a peak around 75% cocoa mass. 80% + milk + chilli + vanilla makes the best hot chocolate.
heddle The bit used to separate out the warp threads so the weft can be moved past (via wikipedia). Having only recently gotten into weaving, I generally forget what it is actually called - useful bit though.
cosmos The great and glorious universe out there. Very cool place (or very hot depending on where you are). I have a particular interest in certain types of pulsating stars out there. The wikipedia entries are pretty crap actually. (pause while chasing references and getting distracted with AAVSO and ADS (and grump when notice not cited on something that did publish on...)
Haithabu aka Hedeby. Useful place by archeological standards and I wish they had more clothing fragments from there. Or conversely that the fragments were larger. Trouser crotch seams dammit...
'The watchmaker argument' Not the best analogy/reasoning. Just because someone has only ever encountered complicated stuff that was designed, does not mean that this means that EVERYTHING must have been designed.
Weekend has been spent at a overnight revel with very nice feast. Good food, good company around a toasty warm fire. People crashed overnight in the hall (which was eventually nice and warm by about midnightish) and there was much brunch in the morning. Yay to getting to use nice warm new hood. Ugly wet windy night out, but we were warm and dry inside and could fall asleep listening to rain on the roof (with only occasional snoring). I got much embroidery done during the day.
Now CSI season 1 binging. It is very good to embroider to, and Z is making good shoe sewing progress and is in a zone. Unfortunately I have been distracted posting this over the past 2 episodes... Must remember work tomorrow...
