alpha_angel, I think Greebo likes company when you are out... Or at least to bring friends in to play. The corpse was removed from under the bed and most of the feathers vacuumed up. Oddly, Z mentioned cleaning up bird corpses after Greebo just before I headed off...

Grump: Wellington library system charges like a wounded bull on overdue library books. If you push it in their slot after hours they count it as being return when they check it in (which may be up to 2 days later if you dropped it off after they shut on a Sat) and charge for it ($1.20 for Sat(?) drop off and check in on Mon). Hmph.

Grouch: Got back from grocery shopping to discover that one of the packets of chicken I had bought (yep, checked receipt) wasn't in there. Since I moved the bags all of 1.5 m to the chairs at the shop, and put stuff in my pack, I managed to lose it there. Arsery since I could have sworn it was in the bag with the other chicken. And it is a 30 min walk back to the shop (and another 30 min home) and I am grumpy enough that I really can't be arsed.

The options for the rest of the day are retreat with book or slaughter plants.
I still hate gardening.

Edit: And since most of the gardening involved playing with heavy machinery (the way things are going today, not a good idea), the book wins. There is a load of laundry on and corned beef on the stove at least.

Edit2: Did go out and clear much of the paved areas. Some progress.
