There was a lot of 2nd hand shop trawling before (and after) wombling up a hill to water plants.
Nothing at Red Cross
Nothing at Sallies
2 paperbacks from Upper Hutt equivalent of Trash Palace
Better luck at Savemart:
Me: 1 blue/grey wool jersey, 1 maroon wool/viscose top*, 1 green lambswool jersey, 1 grey merino wool top, 1 turquiose green merino wool top, 1 grey silk knit top, 1 pink silk knit top (and I can get dye). There was another maroon wool thermal one which fitted really nicely, but the price tag had come off (I am guessing while trying it on or something) and they aren't allowed to sell it without a price tag. Mutter mutter mutter. But for $69 total, not bad. And should be warm...
Z: a linen shirt, wool jersey, wool jacket, trousers.
Trash Palace: a nice set of drawers $50.
Time to go and sit by fire and defrost fingers more. Then work out what to have for dinner. Washing dishes in nice hot sudsy water will defrost fingers even more at least.
* Had thought pure wool, but now I look more closely at the label 50/50 wool/viscose blend. Oh well.
