Aug. 17th, 2007 04:13 pmSo while I am looking up stuff (and muttering why everyone posts extant fabric thread counts and not stitch lengths/types etc*), found someone doing a nice collection of 14-15th C clothing. First shown is a very nice version and discussion of the Moy gown.
*Yes, I know seams seem to be least likely to survive in fabric fragments, especially if sewn with linen... And exceptions are found in some places like Woven into the Earth and Textiles and Clothing etc. Need more primary sources with photos, damn it. Most of the Viking/early period stuff I have found has been embroidery rather than construction. Just me grumping...
