Meme pilfered from
1. Mundane Name:
Jenny
2. Mundane Job:
Former star gazer, currently loitering, hopefully soon cloud gazing.
3. Persona name:
Aliena de Savigny
4. How did you come up with your name?
Last name due to similarity to mundane last name and it was a plausible location for the time. First name was apparently one of King John's mistresses (forget the reference), however I suspect it is a latinised form, so I should verbally be called something slightly different. But I have enough fun responding to this and I really dislike most female Anglo-Saxon and Viking names I have seen*, so can't be arsed changing.
5. Where and when did your persona live?
Nominally 12th Century France/England. Troubadours, Crusades, pretty frocks and some interesting historical women.
* They have prettier names (see above).
6. What is your Known World Location?
Currently Innilgard, soon to be Darton, both in Lochac.
7. What kingdom do you consider to be your home?
Lochac
8. How long have you played?
Started in 1995. There has been the occasional break.
9. How did you get started?
Found the desk at Uni Clubs Day when started Uni. Signed up with the Debating Club but ignored them and stuck with the SCA instead.

Sounded fun.
11. Have you registered a name?
Nope
12. Have you registered a device?
Nope.
13. What awards have you been granted? In what kingdom did you receive these awards?
AoA - Caid.
Dolphin - Caid.
Bouchet - Lochac (St Florians)
14. How many events do you attend each year?
Varies depending on organisational level and what sounds interesting at the time. Past year has been a feast, a tourney, a beach revel, a couple demos, CF, Festival. Next year should be a few more MLH events...
15. What is the best event you have ever been to?
St Judes 2000. By the embers of a dying fire ... :)
16. What is the worst event you have ever been to?
No worst events that I can think of, though there has been the occasional annoying incident at an event that wasn't bad otherwise.
17. What event do you make it to every year?
Had managed Festival for the past 4 years, but that is libel to be broken next year :(. Would like to get back to making CF yearly, but can't do that next year either. Sulk...
18. What event do you refuse to go to.
No event I refuse to got to, but purely fighting events are less likely to lure me in and a basic feast isn't guaranteed unless there is the lure of friends or some out of the ordinary feature.
19. Who is your favorite person to hang at an event with?
I seem to spend a fair amount of time hanging around
20. What activities do you participate in?
Garment making, embroidery, tent sewing, singing, dancing, occasional dish washing and vegetable chopping, lurking, doodling celtic knotwork, rock shifting, mud caking and occasional bellows slave and safety nag. I can also do a reasonable "hold this" if it isn't too heavy.
21. What activity(ies) would you like to learn?
Spinning, weaving, cooking over a fire/hearth ie the practical household skills an early period female persona should have as a matter of course.
Practical siege engine operation just cause that's cool...
22. Are you a marshal?
No.
23. How many tents have you had destroyed at events?
Ridge beam on Viking A-frame snapped at the end of Festival 06. Stressed in winds during set up we think. Bloody lucky that it lasted the event and didn't tear the tent fabric when it went.
24. Has your garb ever caught on fire?
No. Wool around
25. Have you ever woke up in a strange person’s tent?
Strange group's tent, but given it was their public crash space tent.
26. Do you have a pavilion?
Pavillion - bah. Current medieval tent inventory with
27. Are you a peer?
No.
28. Do you ever want to be a peer?
From what I have observed, it seems to have its fair share of pros and cons...
29. Is a coincidence that peer rhymes with beer?
"It also rhymes with leer..." - I agree with
30. Are you a squire, apprentice or protegee?
No.
31. Who would you like to be squired, apprenticed or protegee'd to?
Not certain that style relationship would be of use to anyone else or me at this point. Of course that also depends on how you define that style relationship. I'll stick with listening to/pestering/arguing with
32. What is your war cry?
Oye! safety glasses!
33. Have you ever been pulled off of the field for your safety?
Nope.
34. What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you in armour?
I think the funnier thing would be people seeing me in armour in the first place...
35. Have you read Corpora?
Bits of it.
36. Circlets, how do you feel?
Would it have been worn with that outfit in period?
37. What household(s) do you belong to?
Black Company, though that has been quiet for a while.
38. If you could change one thing about the SCA what would it be?
Make the fact that it is an international organisation stick, as opposed to US + "others who will fall into place willingly and/or don't need to be consulted cause they are covered by the same laws aren't they". *end rant*
Though more sensibly,
Everybody, relax....
39. What is your favorite part of the SCA?
When everyone is relaxed and having fun... Late night campfires talking shit and singing... Harebrained schemes :)
40. What is your SCA Goal for the next 7 years?
Have fun. Harebrained schemes.
