Cool material, but...
Apr. 8th, 2010 10:42 pmCool website of a exhibition about The settlement of Reykjavik, centred around a Viking longhouse excavation. Go to Open, under media, and then poke about (going to the English version should you find that necessary)- click "view" to get to the detailed stuff - some video, some maps, a ~140 page catalogue of the exhibition. Lots of cool building diagrams. Discussions of the genetic and linguistic Icelandic backgrounds.
BUT
Complete Flash everywhere. Can't link, bit of a bastard to navigate.
And since the catalogue is Flash, so can't save, read comfortably etc. Lovely looking catalogue that would be great to have (mainly for the building stuff), but can't download and save or even print out ok.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
