Progress... sorta....
Jun. 11th, 2009 09:41 pmTook paper pattern from
mmy_me's hood class at Collegium. Transferred to a spare sheet. Cut out and pinned it together. Put it on. Sniggered and marked in somewhat for initial basing lines. Stitched it together. Put it on, muttered in the mirror and marked things in pen - in at the back of the neck, out on top of the head. Re-basted, tried it on. Was happier. Pinned up hem round neck to shorten to better 15th standards. Works. Cut out patten. Laid on nice red wool acquired at the previous collegium. Enough wool for outside, inside (it isn't that heavy a wool so linign with itself seemed a good idea) and lyrapipe. Brief check online that yes, lirapipe is fine for 15th C women's hoods (plenty of images there - wont link now).
Pause.
Can't remember if hot washed the wool after we got it. Sigh. It is someone else's fabric scrap, but better safe than sorry.
Now to track down the wool chunk from this collegium to make it worth a hot wash load.
edit: Found:) Z had put it away tidily with the rest of the wool.
