Aug. 11th, 2006 06:25 pmReading of real estate agent's house condition report. Much hilarity.
You see, when we first got this place, we recived the initial status and condition report on it, were quite bewildered, and sent back about 3 pages of corrections along with a signed copy of the report with the correction notes on as well. Such statements such as "there is no dishwasher" were repeated several times. This appeared duely noted as we got the copies back with a thank you note.
Time passed.
After about 1 1/2 years, we have the final inspection. This takes all of 15 min and everything appears fine (bond return now going through the system), though the real estate inspector is bewildered to note that there is no dishwasher. Yep, he had only the uncorrected version of the status sheet to work with. We gave him a copy of our corrections, but since according to him we were getting the bond back fine, didn't think much of it.
A couple days later (today), our flatmates are going through the paperwork to sign their confirmation on the condition report. They are a little baffled by the wording. Apparently there is supposed to be a dishwasher... *
* Yes, they have updated the date on the condition report. Nothing else though...
