Jul. 19th, 2005 09:19 am-3.7 degrees at 5am, with -3.4 degrees at 7:30am when went to catch bus. Z even put on a pair of wool gloves!!

Books. Access to lots and lots of books, via home and library systems. The ability to wander in and read whatever we wanted. Apparently reading to kids helps a bit early on, but the real encourager is the free access to books.
Mind you, I had a great childhood (wrt home life:) and would definitely reccommend what I had for my kids. I miss family camping trips to the West Coast and all around NZ...
And on a completely different topic, someone revised one of the LJ FAQ (#75) so that it gives examples of the LJ specific commands, but no longer tells you how to do them... Oops. Suspect someone mucked up on something. You can still work it out by looking at the source code, but still...
