mmmmm stars....
If you check the Astronomy Picture of the Day (also via ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-syndicated.gif)
apod ), you will see a rather gorgeous picture of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC)*. In it are 4 stars I am studying currently. Unfortunately they are shy souls who wont leap out of the picture and show where they are. One is a reasonably straight forward fellow with a fairly clean spectrum, one is middling, and two are inconsiderate complicated sods who may be hiding in dust clouds and delight in teasing... Hi guys, I just want to examine your mid to late life crises and see what strange things you have turned up... I suspect they ain't listening though.
*It may be considered rather sad and a sign of my deteriorating mental capacities that I can NEVER remember how to spell Magellanic, even after playing with these stars for a year now. Mind you it took 3/4 of a thesis to learn to spell Cepheid. Yipes, even LJ spellchecker knows those two...

Now I have just had the cluster that one of the stars is in pointed out to me:) It is somewhere in a small round fuzzy blob down the bottom left corner.
