Dilemma

Mmm bacon. Mmmm dry cured nice tasting bacon - like the Aussie standard stuff. Not as good as the home cured attempts, but still good.

But...

It advertises itself as 100% chemical free. The packaging proclaims it in at least 2 places.

Yet the smell of it frying set my nostrils a'quivering. And it tasted pretty good in the BLT. And I am fairly certain that it required chemicals to do so, nay, even chemical interactions to have that effect on my senses.

Therefore it is not 100% chemical free as I do actually have bacon.

So, principles or taste buds?

Unless you have some way of communicating to the bacon-packagers that the reason you're not eating they bacon is because of the daft labelling, I think principles are pretty pointless in this case.

Must be calorie free if it's got no chemicals in it. Eat as much as you like!

I can't believe it's not bacon!

No chemicals? What? No sodium chloride? :-)
