Oh great and wise internet...

What are your favorite ingredients for a good bath?

Edit: apart from enough nice hot water to cover knees and nipples. Evil hot water cylinders that are smaller than you thought. But nice and warm and sleepy now.

Apart from that, a glass of wine, cold and white, a small towel within reach, a good book, nice smellies in the water and (if the season) a radiator in the bathroom for half an hour before I get in.

I can't remember the last time I've been in a bad large enough to cover knees and shoulders, which is my threshold. Otherwise, Badedas, music, snacks. I've contemplated an immersion heater, but am not quite game enough for that...

I must admit, after years of experimenting with various scents, salts and bubbles in the bath water, I've come to the conclusion that pure, clear, clean hot water is my favourite. I do have a fondness for Sukin shampoos and conditioners though, which have lovely sharp citrus/lavender scents (available from Piko).

I've always been rather fond of Dettol... which I think may appear more often in my future, given the number of scratches I'm getting bush bashing through burnt gorse.

Dettol Kills canetoads!

You make up a little spraybottle full of it, and run around hunting them. It seems to make them melt.

That sounds mean...
Useful... but mean...

No friggin' breezes blowing into the bathroom and making my exposed skin cold. Nice music. Nice low-allergen scented bath products (bubbles etc). (I'm a big fan of Lush stuff on that front, as I've only ever reacted to one of their products.)

Candles offering gentle illumination can be restful, especially if they exude aromas that are pleasing...
